12.5m Kuhn Optimer for CTF systems

Designed to work with controlled traffic farming systems (CTF), the new 12.5m version of the Optimer disc cultivator will be available for inspection on the Kuhn stand at Cereals 2024.Joining the existing Optimer range, which starts with the 3.0m mounted model, the 12500L, which was previewed at Agritechnica, comes with 100 x 510mm diameter discs arranged across two rows. Working depths are from 3.0-10cm and the Double U 550mm diameter rear roller is said to cope with a wide range of soil types.Kuhn’s arable and connected services product specialist, Edd Fanshawe, says the 12500L will help large scale farmers reduce compaction. “It offers CTF users a stubble cultivator that can slot easily into existing systems and contribute to significantly lowering the number of wheelings during a season.”With a minimum power requirement is 350hp, the 12500L is part of a new generation of Optimers that includes the 9000 (9.0m) model and the 12000 (12m).Updates comprise of a new hydraulic stand to replace the manual version, along with a new folding and unfolding sequence. This is operated via a single user input replacing the four required on previous models.Steady Control is standard on Optimer 9000, 12000 and 12500L. The system offers users an easier way to manage working depth by controlling pressure in the hydraulic cylinders across the width to guarantee a consistent disc depth.Additional seeding options include the SH201, SH402 and SH600 small seed applicator tanks, with the latter also available on Espro drills. For more up-to-date farming news click here and subscribe now to profi and save 47%.Share this: TwitterFacebookRedditWhatsApp Steven Vale
